Nintendo unveiled its upcoming console, the Nintendo Wii U at E3 2011 last summer. It will feature the original Wii’s exceptional motion controls but will be complimented by high definition audio and visuals. Wii U will also be backwards compatible with all original Wii games and software – allowing current Nintendo Wii owners a reason to upgrade when the console is released in April 2012 or early 2013. This means that the original Wii will not be retired completely for some time and titles will continue to be developed for the system even after the release of the Nintendo Wii-U.
